Paradise of Reflection by Chidi Obasi – Chapter One (Purpose)
CHAPTER ONE
THE PURPOSE In this chapter, we shall dig into the depth of your purpose on earth as a youth. Before you were conceived, God knew you and had programmed what and who you will be when given birth to. But then, who is a youth?
Youth, as may be defined, is the condition of being young, the appearance, freshness, vigour, spirit etc. As a characteristic of one. Or also, it is the period of life from puberty to the attainment of full growth (possibly from the age of 12/13 probably to 40 as recognized conventionally ).
On this note, be it known to you that every concept has a reason or purpose, and mankind on this is not exempted, even at youth. Can we now in agreement look at the purpose(s) following the Scriptures as our guide? The purpose of youth is to accomplish that which your creator sent you for.
Flee also youthful lusts, but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with those that call on the lord out of a pure heart”. (2 Timothy 2:22 KJV)
It is the youth who will grow into a man as such the Scripture say ] ” Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it”
(Proverb 22:6 KJV) indicates the inevitable nature of reality of God’ word as it can be seen that the man is being reminded here having got it as a child, as a youth and as a man all in the epistle of Paul to Timothy. May I make an observation which you may want to dispute that the writing of the youth and man’s information being together can mean that the youth age is closer to that of adulthood than childhood age?
11 But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 13 In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you. (1 Timothy 6:11-13, NIV)
